SEMH Teaching Assistant - ChelmsfordStart Date: September 2026Contract: Full-time, Term-time onlyLocation: Chelmsford, EssexAbout the RoleWe are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Chelmsford from September. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them engage positively with education and reach their full potential.You will work closely with teachers and support staff to deliver tailored support, both in the classroom and through targeted interventions.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needsAssist in managing challenging behaviour in a calm and consistent mannerPromote emotional regulation and positive coping strategiesSupport learning activities and adapt resources where requiredBuild strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staffContribute to behaviour support plans and progress monitoringThe Ideal CandidateExperience working with children or young people with SEMH, behavioural needs, or SEN (preferred but not essential)Strong communication and relationship-building skillsA calm, patient and resilient approachAbility to de-escalate challenging situations effectivelyPassion for supporting vulnerable young peopleTeam player with a proactive and flexible attitudeWhat We OfferA supportive and nurturing school environmentOngoing professional development and training opportunitiesThe chance to make a real ..... full job details .....
