SEMH Primary Teaching Assistant An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and experienced SEMH Primary Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Bexley. This is a permanent, full-time role within a small specialist resource provision, supporting pupils from EYFS to Year 6 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Salary starts from £25,354+ per annum, depending on experience. As an SEMH Primary Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping pupils access learning, regulate their emotions, and develop positive behaviours. You will work closely with teachers, the SENDCo, and external professionals to provide consistent, nurturing, and structured support tailored to individual needs. Key Responsibilities Provide targeted 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs Support learning and emotional regulation across EYFS, KS1, and KS2 Implement behaviour support plans and contribute to a calm, predictable learning environment Work as part of a specialist team within the resource provision Act as a positive role model, building trusting relationships with pupils In this role as an SEMH Primary Teaching Assistant, you will need: Proven experience working with children with SEMH and behavioural needs Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, patient approach An understanding of trauma-informed practice and inclusive education The ability to work collaboratively and communicate ..... full job details .....
