SEMH / Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant Full-time Monday-Friday 8:45am-3:15pmPrimary School Long-term role BoltonAre you the sort of Teaching Assistant who stays calm when behaviour escalates, can build a relationship with a child who doesn''t trust adults easily, and isn''t fazed by a challenging day?We are looking for a confident and resilient SEMH/Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant to work closely with a LKS2 pupil with an EHCP who has behavioural and communication needs. The role is based within an exceptional primary school in the Bolton area. This is a hands-on, active role and we are specifically looking for somebody with previous experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, challenging behaviour or additional needs.The role will involve:Providing consistent support for a pupil with an EHCPSupporting emotional regulation, communication and engagement with learningUsing positive behaviour strategies, clear boundaries and consistent routinesRecognising triggers and helping to de-escalate situations calmlySupporting the pupil during periods of heightened behaviourWorking closely with the class teacher, SEND team and other professionalsHelping the pupil develop positive relationships and greater independenceWe would particularly like to hear from you if you have:Experience supporting SEMH, behavioural or communication needsExperience with challenging or distressed behaviourA calm, confident and consistent approachThe resilience and physical confidence ..... full job details .....
