SEMH and Behaviour Teaching Assistant

Prospero Teaching are urgently seeking a dedicated and resilient SEND Teaching Assistant to join a nurturing and inclusive SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) school in Staffordshire. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of pupils aged 7 to 13 years, many of whom require additional emotional and behavioural support to thrive both academically and socially.
About the Role:
- Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEND, particularly SEMH needs
- Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to deliver engaging, inclusive learning
- Help implement behaviour management strategies and support emotional regulation
- Build positive relationships with pupils to encourage self-esteem and resilience
- Support with daily routines, classwork, and social development
The Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working in a SEND or SEMH setting is highly desirable
- Calm, patient, and adaptable with a good sense of humour
- Strong communication skills and ability to build trust and rapport
- A positive role model who is committed to safeguarding and inclusion
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, Team Teach, or equivalent, Health and Social Care) are advantageous
