Children and Young People\''s Counsellor (Self-Employed) *Kirkintilloch base*All Minds is a registered Scottish charity providing one-to-one counselling to individuals of all ages. We work in schools around Scotland and in our bases in Kirkintilloch and Falkirk. We are actively recruiting an exceptional, qualified counsellor on a self-employed basis, with a minimum of 1 year\''s experience working in a counselling setting.The post is for either daytime or evening counselling in our base in Kirkintilloch between the hours of 9am and 4pm, or 4pm and 9pm (exact times can be flexible).The successful applicant will be required to deliver counselling sessions from our specialist, fully-equipped therapy rooms in our Kirkintilloch base. We aim to help people develop the tools necessary to navigate through a range of difficult and complex experiences.Responsibilities
Provide one-to-one counselling sessions to children and young people aged 5 to 18.Carry out assessment interviews with new referrals and evaluate appropriate counselling methods.Liaise with parents and carers where appropriate.Develop and maintain adequate records of clinical work.Fulfil professional supervision requirements - supervision is not included, however All Minds can offer a reduced rate of supervision by one of our qualified clinical supervisors.Contribute to the evaluation of the service by using a range of clinical wellbeing, evaluation and measurement tools.Comply with all policies, procedures and service standards.Undertake relevant training to continue professional development.Build healthy relationships with parents where appropriate, as well as outside agencies and referral organisations.Attend and contribute to team meetings.Qualities / Skills
Excellent and proven organisational and communication skills (written and verbal).Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships.Ability to manage own caseload.Ability to work on own initiative and be self-motivated.Demonstrate a sound sense of personal integrity and ethics.Collaborative working style and strong work ethic.PVG scheme member.Membership of an appropriate counselling organisation (BABCP, BACP, COSCA, PTUK or similar).Suitable professional insurance.Education and Experience
Diploma of Higher Education (required).Counselling: 1 year (required).Professional body membership e.g. BACP/COSCA (required).Job Details
