We are seeking a dedicated and professional Security Officer to join our team at South West London and St George’s Mental Health Trust. This post is essential to maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, staff, and visitors across our mental health facilities.Occupational Requirement for Female-Only RecruitmentThis post is restricted to female applicants under Schedule 9, Part 1, Paragraph 1 of the Equality Act 2010, which permits positive action in recruitment where there is a genuine occupational requirement (GOR). In this case, the role involves:Providing support to female service users, including those in distress or requiring physical interventionConducting searches and security procedures in female-only areas or with female patientsMaintaining dignity and safeguarding standards in sensitive clinical environmentsThis restriction is in place to ensure compliance with safeguarding protocols and to meet the therapeutic needs of female service users in mental health settings.The role includes:Supporting the supervisor to ensure 24-hour security of the Trust sites and propertySupporting the supervisor to ensure 24-hour monitoring of the Trust CCTV systemPatrolling the Trust grounds and property, both internal and externalSecuring and checking doors, windows, and access/egress routesProviding instructions and advice to visitors, contractors, and staff as requiredKeeping the supervisor informed of ongoing issues encountered during dutiesWe are proud to belong at South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust. We offer flexible working, career development, and benefits to support a positive environment.Join our inclusive team and help our patients on their recovery journey.Additional responsibilities include:Eviction of trespassersPatrolling grounds and property, internal and externalChallenging unescorted persons in secure areas without ID badgesAssisting with searches for missing service usersCar park and internal road checks for crime prevention and illegal parkingIssuing Parking Charge Notices in line with Trust policiesAssisting with cash collection and transferEnforcing the no smoking policyReporting and recording incidentsCompleting incident reports on the electronic systemSupporting the supervisor as neededOperating the Switchboard outside working hoursCompleting paperwork accurately and timelyComplying with Trust and Service Provider policies and proceduresAttending security supervision sessions bi-monthlyWearing only Trust-approved uniformThis advert closes on Wednesday 27 Aug ..... full job details .....
