Security and Pastoral Officer Hours; Full time (37 hours per week, all year round) Duration; Temporary for 6 months Salary; £26,745 per annum + benefits Location; Rotherham College, Rotherham Closing date: 20/04/2026 About the Role As a Security and Pastoral Officer for RNN Group (Further Education and Training Provider in South Yorkshire and North Nottinghamshire) you will work within an educational environment, responsible for ensuring the safety and security of learners, staff and visitors within the campus. You will help maintain a secure and conducive atmosphere to promote learning by monitoring college buildings/grounds, enforcing regulations, and responding to emergencies. Your duties will involve engaging with learners, patrolling premises/grounds, monitoring CCTV, managing access points, and providing a visible presence to deter and respond to potential security threats/issues. The RNN Group actively promotes a pastoral approach to encourage its learners within the college environment. As Security and Pastoral Officer, you will support staff in managing student behaviour by promoting positive conduct, de-escalating conflicts, and assisting in the supervision of vulnerable learners in communal areas, including moving of learners from campus spaces into classrooms.
