Section Engineers - RC Experience - Long Term

VGC Group are seeking Section Engineers with RC experience to joing a great team on an exciting, Long Term Major Infrastructure Project in Plymouth. Starts are ASAP subject to BPSS Vetting.

Job Title: Section Engineer
Location: Plymouth
Duration: 4 Years +
Hours: 45 per week, 07:30 – 17:00
Day Rate: £350 – £400 per day (PAYE Umbrella) possible PAYE Direct options can be discussed.
Uplifts: 1.3 x rate on Weeknights & Saturdays. 1.5 x rate on Sundays
Lodge Allowance: £50 per day

Qualifications:
- Relevant Academic Qualification (Level 3, or above ie HNC,HND, Degree)
- CSCS White/Yellow as a minimum
- SSSTS or SMSTS

- TWS/TWC (Desirable)
- FAaW (Desirable)

• Setting out works within specified tolerances using survey equipment (GPS, Total Station, levels).

• Assisting in the preparation of as-built drawings and updating the Project Quality Plan.

• Carrying out quality checks, surveys, and inspections across reinforced concrete.

• Supporting site safety, environmental, and quality inspections.

• Assisting in procurement of materials and equipment.

• Maintaining trackers, daily diaries, sketches, and drawing registers.

• Ensuring calibration and use of setting-out equipment is properly recorded.

• Supporting resolution of technical queries and overcoming on-site engineering challenges.

• Contributing to the development of RAMS, ITPs, and quality check sheets.

• Providing clear communication of setting-out information to site teams.

• Experience with Leica survey equipment (GPS, Total Station, Optical & Digital Levels).

• Ability to write RAMS and develop ITPs.

   

• Excellent organisational, leadership, and IT skills.

• Flexible to work weekends and out-of-hours when required.
