Section Engineer - Structures

Carmichael UK are recruiting for an experienced Section Engineer with a strong background in structures to join one of the UK's largest infrastructure projects, HS2, in Northamptonshire.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a major civils programme, delivering complex structural works as part of a high-profile project with long-term prospects.

• Management of structural packages including bridges, retaining structures, culverts and reinforced concrete works
• Setting out, quality assurance and as-built documentation
• Producing and reviewing RAMS, ITPs and task briefings
• Managing subcontractors and coordinating site activities
• Ensuring works are delivered safely, to programme and in line with project specifications
• Liaising with design, temporary works and construction teams
• Providing engineering support to site teams and mentoring junior engineers

• Previous experience working as a Section Engineer on major civil engineering projects
• Strong structures background with reinforced concrete and structural works experience
• Experience working for Tier 1 contractors or major infrastructure schemes
• Competent with setting out equipment and engineering software
• Good understanding of quality processes, permits and site documentation
• CSCS card essential
• SSSTS or SMSTS beneficial
