Section Engineer

Carmichael UK is recruiting for an experienced Section Engineer to join a leading Tier 1 contractor delivering a major highways infrastructure project in Gloucestershire.

This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a high-profile scheme, working within a collaborative engineering team responsible for the successful delivery of highways and civil engineering works from planning through to completion.

• Manage and supervise Site Engineers and subcontractors on site
• Ensure works are carried out safely, efficiently and in accordance with programme requirements
• Oversee setting out activities and engineering controls
• Review drawings, specifications and construction documentation
• Coordinate temporary works, permits and work packages
• Produce and manage ITPs, RAMS, quality documentation and as-built records
• Monitor progress and provide technical support to delivery teams
• Ensure compliance with project quality, environmental and safety standards
• Assist with planning, sequencing and short-term programme management

• Previous experience working as a Section Engineer on major highways or civil engineering projects
• Experience working for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor
• Strong understanding of earthworks, drainage, structures and highway construction
• Ability to manage engineering teams and subcontractors
• Strong QA and technical documentation experience
• HNC/HND or Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or related discipline

• CSCS Card
• SMSTS preferred
• First Aid at Work desirable
• Full UK Driving Licence
