Section Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Section Engineer to oversee and manage a defined earthworks section of works on a major civil engineering project. The role involves ensuring technical compliance, coordinating site activities, and maintaining quality and safety standards across all operations.

• Project Delivery:

  • Manage and supervise a section of works, ensuring adherence to design, specifications, and programme.
  • Coordinate with Setting Out Engineers and site teams to ensure accurate execution of works.

• Technical Oversight:

  • Review drawings, specifications, and method statements for assigned section.
  • Provide technical guidance and resolve on-site issues promptly.

• Quality Assurance & Documentation:

  • Maintain and update Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) and ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Prepare and review site diaries, progress reports, and as-built records.

• Site Coordination:

  • Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Attend and contribute to site meetings, ensuring clear communication of requirements.

• Health & Safety:

  • Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations.
  • Promote a safe working environment and address any hazards immediately.

• Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Proven experience as a Section Engineer on civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of earthworks, setting out, and construction methodologies.
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and surveying instruments.
