Section 278/38 Engineer

Our client is seeking Section 278/ 38 Engineer to support its Highways Development Approvals team on a contract basis. The role will focus on the technical review of developers'' design submissions for adoptable highway infrastructure, helping to improve approval turnaround times and maintain compliance with local and national standards.Key Responsibilities:Appraise submitted highway designs against relevant local and national standardsReview technical proposals for adoptable highway infrastructure under Sections 38 and 278 of the Highways ActIdentify design issues and provide clear technical feedback to developers'' designers and consultantsLiaise with developers, consultants and internal stakeholders to progress submissions towards technical approvalSupport the Senior Design Engineer with the assessment and processing of applicationsEnsure design submissions reach a technically approvable standardManage workloads independently and contribute to reducing application backlogs and delaysSupport the development of a future pre-submission technical advice serviceJob Requirements:Experience in the technical approval or review of highway designsBackground in highways, civil engineering, construction or a related disciplineUnderstanding of adoptable highway infrastructure and development control processesKnowledge of Section 38 and Section 278 agreements under the Highways ActExperience of working within a local authority development control or similar environmentAbility to ..... full job details .....
