Secondary Teaching Assistant

We are currently recruiting teaching assistants to work in specialist SEMH secondary schools across South East London at the beginning of the next academic year (September 2025). These teaching assistant roles are ideal for individuals who are empathetic, energetic, engaging, and passionate about supporting teenagers and young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs.In this teaching assistant role, you will:Support pupils with their academic progress in a structured, trauma-informed environmentBuild strong, positive relationships and act as a role model for young peopleSupport students with developing communication and social skillsHelp pupils engage with learning through both classroom-based and practical activitiesWork closely with teachers and school staff to meet the individual needs of studentsWe are looking for teaching assistants who:Have a good understanding of mental health and adolescent developmentCan remain calm, patient, and consistent in challenging situationsAre confident working with students aged 11-16 who may present with behavioural or emotional difficultiesMay have experience in SEMH, youth work, mentoring, counselling, or trauma-informed practices (desirable but not essential)Have a genuine passion for supporting the well-being and progress of young peopleWhat we offer:Term-time only teaching assistant rolesWeekly pay ( 100- 115 per day, depending on experience)Full-time and part-time opportunitiesFree training and ongoing ..... full job details .....
