Secondary Teacher - DT

First For Education are currently seeking a passionate and skilled Design Technology Teacher to work in a welcoming and supportive school in Oldbury.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated educator to inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering engaging and practical lessons within a well-equipped Design Technology department.

You must have QTS for this role.

The Role:
You will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality Design Technology lessons, encouraging creativity, problem-solving, and technical skills in students. The ideal candidate will be confident teaching a range of DT specialisms such as Product Design, Resistant Materials, or Graphics.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Design Technology lessons
• Assess, monitor, and report on student progress
• Create a safe and inclusive learning environment, particularly within workshop settings
• Encourage student creativity, innovation, and independent thinking
• Adhere to school policies, including health and safety regulations
• Contribute to the wider school community where appropriate

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Experience teaching Design Technology at KS3 and KS4
• Strong subject knowledge across one or more DT disciplines
• Excellent classroom management skills
• A proactive, adaptable, and enthusiastic approach to teaching
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
