SEMH Teaching Assistant - Secondary PRULocation: TamesideSalary: Competitive ratesContract: Temp to PermStart Date: ASAPHours: Full-timeTradewind Recruitment are currently seeking a resilient and passionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive secondary PRU in Tameside.The setting supports young people who require additional support with SEMH, behaviour and engagement, helping them overcome barriers to education and achieve positive outcomes.The RoleYou will:Support secondary-aged pupils on a one-to-one and small-group basis.Build positive, trusting relationships with young people.Support emotional regulation, behaviour and engagement.Assist teachers with classroom learning and activities.Promote positive behaviour and maintain clear boundaries.Use appropriate de-escalation and behaviour-management strategies.Encourage confidence, resilience and independence.Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to support pupil progress.The Ideal CandidateWe are looking for someone who is:Experienced in, or passionate about, supporting young people with SEMH needs.Calm, patient and resilient.Confident managing challenging behaviour.Able to build strong relationships with hard-to-reach pupils.Consistent and confident in maintaining boundaries.A strong team player with excellent communication skills.Experience in a PRU, alternative provision, SEMH setting, youth work, behaviour support or secondary school is desirable.Why Tradewind?Competitive rates of pay.Dedicated consultant ..... full job details .....
