Cover People are currently recruiting for a Personal Care Assistant to work within a secondary school in Manchester, supporting pupils who require assistance with personal care and daily activities throughout the school day.

This role would suit a compassionate, patient and reliable individual who understands the importance of maintaining pupils'' dignity, privacy and independence while providing practical support tailored to their needs.

Working alongside teaching and support staff, you will help pupils access their education comfortably and safely, providing personal care and assistance where required.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing personal care, including toileting, hygiene and changing where necessary.

• Supporting pupils with their daily routines while maintaining dignity and privacy.

• Assisting pupils with mobility and movement around the school where required.

• Helping pupils access lessons, activities and school facilities.

• Encouraging independence wherever possible.

• Following individual care plans and the school''s safeguarding procedures.

• Supporting pupils'' comfort, wellbeing and safety throughout the day.

• Communicating effectively with teachers and other support staff.

• Maintaining appropriate confidentiality and professional boundaries.

• Helping create a respectful, inclusive environment where pupils feel comfortable and supported.

We''re looking for someone who is caring, dependable and confident providing personal care to young people in an educational setting.

You should have:

• Experience providing personal care or supporting individuals with additional needs.

• A patient, empathetic and respectful approach.

• An understanding of the importance of dignity, privacy and confidentiality.

• The ability to follow care plans and established procedures.

• Good communication and teamwork skills.

• A calm and professional manner.

• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Previous experience in a school, healthcare, care home or specialist support setting would be advantageous. Experience supporting young people with disabilities or complex needs would also be beneficial.
