Secondary English Tutor - Runcorn Location: Runcorn Hours: 5-15 hours per week Start Date: October 2026 Duration: Ongoing Prospero Teaching are currently seeking an enthusiastic Secondary English Tutor to provide 1:1 tuition to a learner in Runcorn. This role would suit a supportive educator who can develop learners'' reading, writing and comprehension skills while helping them regain confidence and engage positively with their education. Key Responsibilities Deliver personalised secondary English tuition Support reading comprehension, spelling, grammar and written communication Plan lessons around individual attainment and learning goals Use engaging texts, activities and resources Identify areas requiring additional support Encourage independent thinking and effective study habits Monitor academic progress and adapt teaching accordingly Requirements Strong knowledge of the secondary English curriculum Experience teaching or tutoring secondary-aged learners Excellent written and verbal communication skills Creative, patient and adaptable teaching style Experience supporting learners with SEND or gaps in education desirable QTS, PGCE or relevant tutoring experience desirable Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one Right to Work in the UK Two professional child-related references Prospero Teaching is acting as an employment business and education recruitment agency in relation to this vacancy. ..... full job details .....
