As a Secondary Cover Supervisor, you'll play an important role in maintaining a positive learning environment, supporting pupils and ensuring lessons run smoothly during teacher absences.

Key Responsibilities

As a Secondary Cover Supervisor in Cardiff, your daily responsibilities will include:

• Supervising lessons across a variety of secondary school subjects using pre-prepared lesson materials.

• Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive, engaging learning environment.

• Ensuring pupils remain focused, motivated and complete their assigned work.

• Supporting pupils with additional learning needs where required.

• Following school safeguarding, behaviour management and child protection policies.

• Working collaboratively with teaching and support staff to ensure a smooth school day.

No lesson planning or marking required!

Requirements & Qualifications

To be successful as a Secondary Cover Supervisor, you will need:

• A minimum of 3 months' experience working with children or young people through education, employment, volunteering or coaching.

• A degree-level qualification or equivalent.

• Confidence managing groups of secondary school pupils.

• Strong communication, organisational and behaviour management skills.

• A positive, adaptable and enthusiastic approach to working with young people.

• An Enhanced DBS and EWC registration, or willingness to obtain both.

Previous Cover Supervisor experience is desirable but not essential. Graduates and aspiring teachers who meet the minimum experience requirement are encouraged to apply!
