Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust .This position will be based at Darent Valley Hospital and offers a mix of elective and emergency theatres across a wide variety of specialties. The post holder will work within our Theatre Suite and provide expert, holistic peri-operative care to patient groups and their relatives while adhering to the Trust''s values and governance requirements.Responsibilities

Provide skilled, high-quality peri-operative care to all patient groups and act as a clinical resource within the Unit and across the Division as necessary.Assist with the organisation of reception and discharge of patients, ensuring safe and competent care during immediate and post-operative periods.Support the development of staff and students within the Unit, including teaching, assessment, planning and evaluation of care.Ensure all patient documentation is complete and up-to-date; care plans should reflect accurate progress and response to treatment.Assist with accidents and incidents involving patients, staff, relatives and visitors; complete statements and incident reports promptly and accurately.Participate in Quality Assurance activities within the Critical Care Directorate where applicable.Provide high-quality assistance to the anaesthetist and ensure patients are safe to transfer back to ward areas following recovery protocols.Adhere to the NMC/HCPC Code of Professional Conduct at all times.Person Specification

Education and TrainingEssential: 1st level Registered General Nurse or Registered Operating Department Practitioner; evidence of CPDDesirable: Further relevant professional studies or working towards courses (e.g., Recovery, Pain, HDU, ALS); Post-reg educational qualification (e.g., Mentorship); relevant degree-level studiesKnowledge and SkillsEssential: ability to plan and organise day-to-day clinical activities; excellent communication skills (written and verbal); team building; understanding of change management and clinical risk; problem solving; ability to prioritise workload; customer serviceDesirable: demonstrable clinical expertise relevant to the area; understanding of HR processes and staff management; finance management; awareness of NHS Plan and initiatives; computer literacyExperienceEssential: previous clinical experience of a theatre service specialty areaDesirable: experience in assisting with change processes within a clinical environmentPersonal AttributesFlexibility to adapt to changing objectives and environments; diplomatic, adaptable, approachable, helpful and resourcefulDetails
