We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Technician to join a dynamic secondary school in Doncaster on a long-term temporary basis, starting as soon as possible.This is a full-time role, supporting the Science Department to ensure the smooth running of lessons and practical experiments across KS3 and KS4.This position is ideal for someone with previous experience working in a school laboratory setting or a science-based background looking to contribute to a supportive and forward-thinking educational environment.Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Science Technician, you will be expected to: Prepare and set up equipment and materials for practical science lessons in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.Ensure laboratories are well-stocked, safe, and properly maintained in line with health and safety standards (CLEAPSS guidance).Support teaching staff during practical science lessons when required.Clean and store laboratory equipment appropriately after use.Assist in the development of practical science resources.Manage chemical stock levels, including safe handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous substances.Conduct regular safety checks of lab equipment and maintain accurate records.Support the implementation of health and safety procedures and ensure compliance with COSHH regulations.Assist with administrative tasks such as ordering supplies and maintaining inventories.Occasionally assist with science-related displays or school events.
