Science Technician for Secondary schools

We are seeking reliable and enthusiastic Science Technicians to join our supply team as we are getting increased demand for Science Technicians in Secondary schools in the Wrexham area. As a Science Technician you will work closely with teaching staff to prepare practical lessons, maintain equipment, and ensure a safe and well-organised laboratory environment.This is a great opportunity for someone with a practical mindset who enjoys working in an educational setting and supporting students'' learning behind the scenes.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare equipment, materials, and resources for science lessons and practical activitiesSupport teaching staff during practical sessions where requiredMaintain, organise, and safely store science equipment and chemicalsCarry out routine checks, cleaning, and basic maintenance of equipmentEnsure compliance with health and safety regulations, including COSHHAssist with stock control, ordering, and inventory managementDispose of waste safely and appropriatelyProvide general technical support across Biology/Chemistry/Physics as appropriate The Ideal Candidate Will HaveA good standard of education, including GCSEs (or equivalent) in science and mathsPractical science knowledge (school-based or laboratory experience desirable)An understanding of health and safety procedures in a laboratory environmentGood organisational and time-management skillsThe ability to work independently and as part of a teamA calm, flexible, and proactive approach to ..... full job details .....
