As a School Science Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the science department by preparing and maintaining laboratory equipment and materials, ensuring a safe and effective learning environment for students. This position involves collaborating with teachers to enhance the practical science curriculum, managing inventory, and upholding health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing and setting up equipment and materials for science experiments and demonstrations.
- Maintaining and organizing laboratory equipment and resources.
- Assisting teachers and students during practical lessons, ensuring a safe and effective learning environment.
- Managing inventory, ordering supplies, and ensuring all materials are available for lessons.
- Supporting the implementation of health and safety regulations and procedures.
- Participating in departmental meetings and contributing to the planning and development of the science curriculum.
- Providing technical support and troubleshooting for equipment and experiments.
What We''re Looking For:
- A strong passion for science and education.
- A degree in Science is desirable
- Must have a minimum of 2 months experience as a science technician in a school environment
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- A keen eye for detail and a methodical approach to work.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a laboratory setting.
- Flexibility and a positive attitude towards supporting teachers and students.
