Science Technician

PK Education is currently recruiting for an experienced, reliable and organised Science Technician to support a busy and successful Science Department within a secondary school in Northumberland.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a science background, laboratory experience, or previous school-based technician experience who is passionate about supporting practical learning.

As a Science Technician, you will:

• Prepare, set up and clear away equipment and materials for practical science lessons

• Ensure all apparatus and chemicals are stored safely and maintained appropriately

• Support teachers during practical sessions where required

• Carry out basic maintenance and stock control of laboratory equipment

• Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations at all times

• Assist with ordering and monitoring departmental resources

• A background in Science (Biology, Chemistry or Physics)

• Previous experience in a laboratory or school environment (desirable but not essential)

• Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail

• Knowledge of health & safety procedures within a lab setting

• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
