TeacherActive is proud to be working with Secondary Schools in Powys, who are looking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Teacher. A specialism in Biology would be highly desirable; however, applications from qualified teachers with experience delivering general Science are also welcomed. The schools provide a welcoming and inclusive learning environment, with a strong emphasis on developing pupils'' confidence, independence and academic achievement.

TeacherActive is looking to take on a motivated Science Teacher on a temporary / permanent basis, with an immediate start available. The successful Science Teacher will support pupils across Key Stage 3 / KS3 and Key Stage 4 / KS4, planning and delivering engaging Science lessons, assessing pupil progress and creating a positive learning environment. The role will involve teaching Biology and general Science topics, encouraging pupils to develop their scientific knowledge, practical skills and curiosity through engaging classroom activities.

The successful Science Teacher will have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) recognised in Wales

• A specialism in Biology (desirable), although general Science specialists are encouraged to apply

• Experience teaching Science within a Secondary School setting (desirable)

• A strong understanding of the Curriculum for Wales and Science teaching requirements

• The ability to plan, prepare and deliver engaging Science lessons that meet the needs of all learners

• Confidence in delivering practical Science activities while maintaining a safe learning environment

• Strong classroom management and behaviour management skills

• Excellent communication and organisational skills

• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents and staff

• A flexible, patient and adaptable approach to teaching and learning

• A genuine passion for Science and helping young people achieve their full potential
