Job Title: Science Teacher (Physics or Biology Specialist) andndash; Maidstone
Pay Rates: andpound;163 - andpound;230 per day (dependent on experience)
Full-Time, Long-Term Supply Contract andndash; September 2025 andndash; December 2025 (with potential for extension)

Supply Desk are currently recruiting a reliable, adaptable, and passionate Science Teacher for one of our large and well-regarded secondary schools in Maidstone. The school are seeking a teacher who is confident in delivering all three sciences (Biology, Chemistry, and Physics) to Key Stage 4, with a specialism in either Physics or Biology to A Level.

This full-time role starts in September 2025 and runs until at least December 2025, with the possibility of extension or a permanent position. The school welcomes applications from both Newly Qualified Teachers (ECTs) and experienced practitioners who are looking for a fresh opportunity within a supportive environment.

The Ideal Candidate Will:


  • Deliver engaging and well-structured lessons in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics to KS3 and KS4, with the ability to teach Physics or Biology to KS5.
  • Be flexible, adaptable, and confident in managing a full teaching timetable.
  • Use effective classroom management strategies to create a positive learning environment.
  • Demonstrate good understanding of Assessment for Learning (AfL) and differentiated instruction.
  • Be open to taking on full teaching responsibilities, including planning, marking, and parent communication.

Requirements:


  • QTS or QTLS status (or equivalent).
  • Recent experience teaching secondary Science in the UK (including PGCE placements for ECTs).
  • Strong subject knowledge, particularly in Physics or Biology at KS5 level.
  • Ability to provide professional references covering recent teaching experience.
  • Subject to Enhanced DBS, reference checks, and overseas police clearances (if applicable).
  • Legal right to work in the UK and a full employment/education history on your CV.
