Science Teacher - Secondary School

• Location: OX3, Oxford
• Start Date: End of October 2026 - exact date TBC
• Salary: -DOE per day
• Contract: Temporary, ongoing until Christmas (maybe longer)
• Hours: Full-time, Monday - Friday

Empowering Learning is seeking a Science Teacher for a secondary school in OX3 to cover a planned absence from the end of October until Christmas. There may be an opportunity to start the week before half term for a handover. The role could go on into 2027 for longer.

A Chemistry specialist would be preferred, although a General Science Teacher confident teaching up to Year 10 will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging Science lessons up to Year 10
• Plan, assess and adapt lessons effectively
• Maintain strong classroom and behaviour management
• Build positive relationships with students and staff
• Support student progress and development

Requirements:

• QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
• Secondary Science teaching experience
• Chemistry specialism preferred but not essential
• Strong classroom management skills
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
