This is a full-time, long-term opportunity for a passionate Science Teacher who is ready to start immediately and make a real impact on the lives of students with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
About the Science Teacher Role:
As a Science Teacher, you will play a key role in shaping the academic and personal development of students in an SEMH setting. Your responsibilities as a Science Teacher will include:
Delivering high-quality, engaging Science lessons tailored to pupils with SEMH needs.
Planning, preparing, and assessing lessons to ensure progress across all abilities.
Supporting students in developing key skills in scientific inquiry, experimentation, and problem-solving.
Collaborating with SEN staff and the wider school team to implement personalised learning plans.
Creating a calm, structured, and positive learning environment as a Science Teacher.
Supporting pupils'' social and emotional development alongside their academic progress.
Adapting teaching methods to meet individual student needs, including those with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and other additional learning requirements.
Key Responsibilities of the Science Teacher:
Deliver Science lessons across KS3, ensuring curriculum coverage and engagement.
Monitor, assess, and report on pupil progress, providing feedback and support.
Support pupils in preparation for assessments and accreditation.
Contribute to curriculum development and school-wide Science initiatives.
Work as a supportive and proactive member of the SEMH school team as a Science Teacher.
Requirements:
Qualified teacher with recent Science teaching experience.
Experience in SEMH, PRU, or SEN settings is highly desirable.
Passion for teaching Science and ability to inspire pupils.
Strong behaviour management and resilience in challenging environments.
Full commitment to a full-time, long-term role as a Science Teacher.
Must be available to start ASAP in the SK6 area.
