Science Teacher
Full Time (Part Time Considered) Maternity Cover We are seeking an enthusiastic and resilient Teacher of Science to join a dedicated team on a maternity cover basis from September 2026. This is a rewarding opportunity to work within a small, specialist SEMH secondary setting, where strong relationships, clear structure and high-quality teaching make a genuine difference to young people s lives. The Role You will deliver engaging and well-structured science lessons to small classes of secondary-aged pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The role will involve teaching across KS3 and KS4 (Combined Science), with a strong emphasis on safely delivering practical experiments and adapting lessons to meet individual needs. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver high-quality science lessons across KS3 and KS4 Deliver practical experiments with a strong focus on health and safety and risk assessment Create a calm, consistent and supportive learning environment Use trauma-informed and restorative approaches to support behaviour and engagement Work collaboratively with support staff, SEND professionals and pastoral teams Monitor student progress and adapt teaching to meet individual needs About You Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or an experienced unqualified teacher Confident in delivering practical science lessons Experience of, or strong interest in, working with pupils with SEMH needs Calm, flexible and solution-focused approach Strong behaviour ..... full job details .....
