Science Teaching Assistant (GCSE Science Knowledge Essential) South London Competitive Salary (Dependent on Experience) Full-Time Term Time Only September 2026 StartAbout the RoleReed Education is recruiting on behalf of a specialist sen secondary educational setting for a dedicated and knowledgeable Science Teaching Assistant to join their team.This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic individual with a strong understanding of GCSE Science who is passionate about supporting young people to engage with learning, build confidence, and achieve academic success.The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff to support students across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping them access the Science curriculum and make progress towards their GCSE qualifications.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport students during Science lessons across Biology, Chemistry and Physics.Provide targeted support to students studying GCSE Science.Deliver small-group and 1:1 interventions to raise attainment.Assist with practical experiments and classroom preparation.Support students with a range of educational needs, including SEND and SEMH.Encourage positive engagement, participation and attendance.Work closely with teachers to monitor pupil progress and identify learning gaps.Promote positive behaviour and maintain a safe learning environment.Support students in developing confidence, independence and resilience.Essential Requirements Strong knowledge and understanding of GCSE Science (Biology, ..... full job details .....
