About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Welfare Officer to join our team. This is a vital role supporting the health, safety, and wellbeing of our students on a daily basis. The successful candidate will play a key part in ensuring a safe and supportive environment where students can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide first aid care and medical support to students and staff
• Manage the school’s medical room and maintain accurate medical records
• Respond promptly to accidents, injuries, and medical emergencies
• Liaise with parents/carers regarding student health concerns
• Support students with ongoing medical conditions and care plans
• Ensure compliance with health and safety and safeguarding policies
• Maintain first aid supplies and equipment
• Work closely with pastoral and safeguarding teams to support student wellbeing

Essential Requirements:

• Valid First Aid at Work qualification (must be current)
• Experience working with children or young people (preferably in a school setting)
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Calm, professional manner in emergency situations
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Desirable:

• Previous experience in a school welfare or healthcare role
• Knowledge of safeguarding procedures in education
• Experience supporting students with medical needs or SEND
