Your new company
A Secondary School in North Birmingham is looking for an enthusiastic Science Technician to join their dynamic science department for a long term cover. The role is a long term cover from 8.00 am - 4.00 pm and is every Monday to Friday and term time only.

Your new role
The role is to support teaching staff in the development and education of children, including the provision of specialist technical skills and knowledge. Key duties will include:

• Preparing and maintaining laboratory equipment and materials for practical lessons
• Supporting teachers in delivering engaging experiments across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
• Ensuring health and safety standards are upheld at all times
• Assisting in the development of new practical activities and demonstrations
• Managing stock levels and order supplies as needed

What you''ll need to succeed
You will need to have experience in a lab environment (school or industry) with strong organisational skills and attention to detail. You will have a proactive attitude and ability to work independently and as part of a team, You will also have recent and satisfactory references that Hays can obtain for you.
