School Minibus Driver

IMH Recruitment are currently seeing D1 School Mini Bus Drivers for our client in the Kirklees area, HD1. The post is a split shift system based around home to school transport hours. Applicants must be flexible and prepared to work outside those times when required.

This driver role is within the Passenger Travel Service, which transports over 1000 Pre16 children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to schools within Kirklees and beyond. 

Duties:

• Driving a school minibus (D1 Licence).
• Secure passengers in wheelchairs and adjust passenger seats as required (Manual handling).
• Work split shifts around school transport hours, with flexibility for extra hours when needed.
• Ensure a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable journey for passengers.
• Monitor vehicle quality and report issues to the Transport Office.
• Communicate with parents, transport officers, schools, and colleges.
• Take part in any training that is required for the role.

Requirements:

• Previous D1 driving experience is desireable.
• D1 Licence is essential.
• An Enhanced DBS Check with both Adult and Children’s Barred List Check is required.
• Experience of working with children and young people is a advantageous.
• The ability to work Split Shifts is essential for this role.

Hours & Pay

• Monday - Friday
• 7am start. First drop finishes roughly 9-10am.
• 5pm Finishes. Seconds drop starts around 13:30/14:00.
• Starting at £12.85 PH.
