Job Title: School Librarian
Area: Bolton (BL3)
Duration: ASAP - May half term
Salary: Up to -115.00 per day
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm

About the School:

Prospero Teaching is currently looking for an experienced School Librarian to work in a secondary school based in Bolton on a temporary basis.

This is a great opportunity for a librarian with school-based experience who is confident in supporting reading initiatives, managing library resources, and contributing to a positive learning environment.

As a School Librarian, you will:

• Promote a culture of reading across the school and wider community
  * Manage the day-to-day running of the library, ensuring it is organised and welcoming
  * Support students in developing research and independent learning skills
  * Implement and monitor reading intervention programmes
  * Ensure library resources support the curriculum across subject areas
  * Maintain, catalogue, and organise library stock and resources
  * Work closely with staff to support literacy and learning outcomes
  * Celebrate and encourage student progress and engagement in reading

What We''re Looking For:

• Previous experience in a library or school setting (essential)
  * Strong organisational and administrative skills
  * A passion for reading, literacy, and education
  * The ability to engage and support young people effectively
  * A proactive, flexible, and professional approach
  * Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team

To be eligible you must:

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
  * Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the update service
  * Provide two professional child-related references
