School Librarian - Secondary School, Newham
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced School Librarian to join a vibrant secondary school in Newham on a temporary contract until July 2026. This role is available for an immediate start and will be arranged through an agency.
The Role:
Managing and developing the school library to support learning and literacy across all year groups
Assisting students with research and reading development
Promoting a love of reading and supporting independent learning
Organising, cataloguing, and maintaining library resources
Working closely with teaching staff to support the curriculum
Requirements:
Previous library experience is essential (preferably within an educational setting)
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Ability to engage and inspire students in their reading journey
Strong IT and cataloguing skills
