School Driver/Chaperone - SEMH

Leader Education are recruiting a Driver/Chaperone to work at a small School based in Gateshead. The ideal Driver/Chaperone will have a D1 Licence, experience chaperoning, and exposure or understanding for young people with different behavioural and Mental Health needs. The school caters for young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties.

The position begins at 7:00 AM and runs for approximately 2.5 hours each morning Monday to Friday.

To be successful with Leader Education, the candidate will have:

• A D1 Licence, and experience driving a vehicle with this capacity.
• An enhanced DBS on the update service, or the willingness to obtain one.
• The ability to maintain clear communication with passengers to ensure a positive and comfortable experience.
• Respect towards the privacy and confidentiality of passengers.
• Dress appropriately for the occasion or organisation.
• Arrive on time for scheduled pickups and drop-offs.
• Assist passengers as necessary.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Adaptability and a commitment to meeting the diverse needs of students.
