Tradewind Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced School Cook to work within a school in Shirebrook, NG20.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with catering experience who is confident preparing and serving nutritious meals within a busy school environment. You will play an important role in ensuring pupils receive high-quality meals while maintaining excellent standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and kitchen organisation.

Responsibilities:

• Preparing and cooking nutritious meals for pupils and staff

• Following planned menus and accommodating allergies and dietary requirements

• Ensuring food is prepared, stored and served safely

• Maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the kitchen

• Supporting with stock management, deliveries and food rotation

• Following all relevant food safety, health and safety and safeguarding procedures

• Working closely with catering and school staff to ensure an efficient lunchtime service

• Cleaning kitchen equipment, work surfaces and food preparation areas as required

Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a kitchen or catering environment

• School, nursery, care or similar high-volume catering experience would be advantageous

• A good understanding of food hygiene and safe food preparation

• Food Hygiene/Food Safety qualification desirable

• An understanding of allergies and special dietary requirements

• Reliable, organised and able to work efficiently within a busy environment

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team

• You MUST already hold a Child Only Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service

The role:

• Location: Shirebrook, NG20

• Hours: 8:30am - 1:30pm

• Pay: -15.00 per hour
