A secondary school in Newham is looking for a reliable and hardworking School Cleaner to join their premises team. The successful candidate will help maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for students and staff across the school.

As a School Cleaner, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the school site.

Key responsibilities include:

• Cleaning classrooms, corridors, offices, communal areas and other school facilities.

• Cleaning and maintaining toilets and washroom facilities.

• Emptying bins and disposing of waste appropriately.

• Sweeping, mopping and vacuuming floors.

• Dusting and wiping down surfaces and furniture.

• Reporting any maintenance issues, hazards or damage to the appropriate member of staff.

• Following health and safety procedures and COSHH guidelines.

• Ensuring cleaning equipment and products are used safely and correctly.

• Supporting with additional cleaning duties when required.

• Maintaining a consistently high standard of cleanliness across the school.

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Previous cleaning experience, preferably within a school, office or commercial environment.

• A strong attention to detail and pride in their work.

• A reliable and hardworking attitude.

• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Good time-management and organisational skills.

• An understanding of health and safety and safe working practices.

• A professional and friendly approach when working within a school environment.
