Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking School Cleaner to join our team in Preston. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for pupils, staff, and visitors. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to high standards of hygiene and safety.
Key Responsibilities
Clean classrooms, corridors, offices, toilets, and communal areas to a high standard.
Vacuum carpets, sweep and mop hard floors, and dust/wipe down furniture and surfaces.
Empty bins and dispose of rubbish in accordance with school waste procedures.
Refill soap, toilet paper, and paper towel dispensers as required.
Clean and disinfect toilet and washroom areas.
Ensure cleaning equipment and materials are used safely and stored securely.
Report any maintenance or health and safety issues to the Site Manager.
Follow school safeguarding, health & safety, and COSHH regulations.
Support deep cleaning tasks during school holidays when required.
Requirements
Previous cleaning experience in schools or similar environments is desirable but not essential.
Good knowledge of cleaning practices, health & safety, and hygiene standards.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining a safe environment.
Enhanced DBS check required (can be arranged if not already held).
