About the Role

Manpower UK is seeking a reliable School Chef for a school-based role in Kingston Upon Hull (HU9). This part-time contract runs through the Summer Term, with potential extension. Working Monday to Friday from 8:15am to 2:15pm, the pay is up to £13.50 per hour. Responsibilities include preparing, cooking, and presenting nutritious meals according to school menus. You will manage kitchen operations during service, delegate tasks, and maintain a clean, hygienic environment. Monitoring stock levels, supporting ingredient ordering, and strictly adhering to food safety and allergen regulations are key. Previous chef experience is required, ideally within a school setting.

Manpower are currently seeking a reliable Chef to join our friendly school catering team through until the Summer Term with the potential to be extended after this time.

Hours: 8:15am - 2:15pm (Monday to Friday)
Pay: £13.50 per hour

Preparing, cooking, and presenting nutritious meals in line with school menus
Ensuring all food is prepared to a high standard and served on time
Managing kitchen operations during service, including delegating tasks where required
Maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic kitchen environment
Monitoring stock levels and supporting with ordering and storage of ingredients
Adhering to all food safety, allergen, and hygiene regulations at all times

Requirements:

Previous experience working as a chef, ideally within a school or large-scale catering environment
Knowledge of food safety standards and allergen management
Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
Strong organisational and time management skills
A positive, proactive, and flexible approach
Must hold a valid Enhanced DBS certificate
