Temporary Caretaker - YorkLocation: YorkPay Rate: 18.00- 19.00 per hourHours: Split shift - 6:30am-10:00am and 2:00pm-6:00pmContract: TemporaryDriving Licence: EssentialWe are currently recruiting for an experienced and reliable Temporary Caretaker to support the day-to-day operation, security and maintenance of a busy site in York.This is a hands-on role requiring someone who is practical, responsible and confident working independently. You will play a key role in ensuring the site is opened, operated and secured safely each day, while providing general maintenance and operational support.Key ResponsibilitiesOpen the site at 6:30am, ensuring cleaners can access the site from 6:45am and that toilets, gates and access points are ready for public use.Lock and unlock all buildings and access points, including the archway, walled garden and courtyard gates.Turn off lights, close windows and set alarms to ensure the site is safe and secure.Manage gates and barriers in line with college opening times.Act as an emergency key holder, attending site when required to secure the premises promptly.Take monthly cash takings from the Visitor Centre to the bank.Carry out minor building maintenance and general repairs.Complete routine site compliance checks, including water, emergency lighting, lifts, fire doors/exits, plant rooms and fire extinguishers.Carry out alarm testing and regular site patrols.Take utility meter readings.Keep the site clean and free from litter, empty bins and ..... full job details .....
