School Caretaker

We are looking for an immediate Caretaker who takes pride in maintaining a safe, secure, bright environment for our pupils and staff to join one of our schools in Sefton. If you have basic DIY skills, a proactive attitude, and take pride in a job well done, we''d love to hear from you. What You''ll Be Doing Site Security: Unlocking the school each morning, securing the site at the end of the day, and acting as a key holder. General Maintenance: Handling basic DIY and routine upkeep (e.g., changing light tubes, minor plumbing fixes, painting, hanging shelving, and simple repairs). Grounds and Premises: Ensuring outdoor areas, pathways, and play zones are clean, safe, and hazard-free. Health and Safety: Performing routine checks (e.g., water testing, fire alarm tests) and liaising with contractors for major servicing. Community Support: Assisting with setup for school events, assemblies, and managing deliveries. What We''re Looking For Practical Mindset: Basic maintenance and handyman skills (carpentry, basic plumbing, or general trades background is a bonus). Reliability and Initiative: Someone who sees what needs doing and gets it done safely. Communication: Friendly and approachable-you''ll be a valued face around the school site.
