We are seeking an experienced and commercially focused Technical Sales Manager to join a growing engineering and manufacturing business. This is a customer-facing role focused on developing new business opportunities, growing key accounts, and providing technical support to customers across a range of industrial sectors.
The successful candidate will combine strong sales skills with technical understanding, building long-term customer relationships and delivering solutions that meet both customer and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities as a Sales Manager
- Develop and grow relationships with existing customers while identifying and securing new business opportunities.
- Manage a portfolio of key accounts, creating and implementing account development plans.
- Conduct customer visits, presentations, and technical discussions to understand customer needs and recommend suitable solutions.
- Provide technical and commercial support throughout the sales process.
- Monitor market activity, customer trends, and competitor developments to identify growth opportunities.
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts, pipeline activity, and customer records using CRM systems.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure a high level of customer service and successful project delivery.
- Support pricing, quotation, and negotiation activities while maintaining profitable growth.
About You
- Proven track record in B2B technical sales within engineering, manufacturing, industrial, or related sectors.
- Experience in business development and account management.
- Strong commercial awareness and consultative selling skills.
- Ability to understand technical products, drawings, specifications, or engineering applications.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated and capable of managing a territory independently.
- Engineering qualification or relevant industry experience would be advantageous.
