Sales Ledger Clerk Department Finance / Accounts Reports To Head of Finance Job Purpose The Sales Ledger Clerk is responsible for the accurate and timely management of the sales ledger, ensuring sales invoices are raised correctly, customer accounts are maintained, and outstanding debts are actively managed. The role supports cash flow, customer relationships, and the overall efficiency of the finance function. Key Responsibilities Raise and issue sales invoices accurately and in a timely manner Maintain and update customer accounts and master data Allocate customer payments, including BACS, cheques, and card payments Monitor aged debtor balances and carry out credit control activities Chase overdue payments professionally via phone and email Add sales invoices to the cashflow accurately Resolve customer invoice and payment queries promptly Prepare aged debtor and sales ledger reports for management Reconcile sales revenue and customer statements and investigate discrepancies Assist with month-end and year-end sales ledger processes Ensure compliance with internal controls and finance procedures General Finance Duties Assist with month-end processes, including ledger reconciliations Support audits by providing documentation and explanations as required Liaise with internal departments to resolve finance-related queries Maintain confidentiality and data accuracy at all times Support the Finance Manager with ad-hoc finance tasks as required Key Skills and Competencies ..... full job details .....
