Job Title: Business Development Manager - Mechanical EngineeringIndustry Sector: Mechanical Engineering, Industrial, Fabrication, Animal Feed Milling, Beaters, Screens, Wearparts, Granulated Machinery Screens, Industrial Screens, Tyre Processing, Plastic and Green Waste Recycling, Architectural, Staircases and Stairwells, Balustrade Panels, Perforated Sheet Panels, Sheet Metal FabricatorsArea to be covered: National - ideally based South YorkshireRemuneration: £40,000-£43,000 Neg. + £2,000 BonusBenefits: Car Allowance or EV after probation and full benefits packageThe role of the Sales Engineer - Mechanical Engineering will involve:Field sales role covering nationally, although the majority of our clients\'' customers are based between the M62 and M4 corridor40% of your time selling hardened tungsten carbide tipped beaters, screens and wearparts into animal feed milling (straw and grass processing products)40% selling industrial screens for granulated machinery used in plastic recycling and green waste processing (targeting Manufacturing Managers, Engineering Managers, Plant Engineers within high end recycling businesses such as Veolia, Biffa, Viridor etc.)Remaining 20% of your time selling perforated metal products such as balustrades, staircases and stairwells into architectural fabricators working for main contractorsMajority of your time will be focused on winning new business (split 50% cross selling and upselling within existing customers and 50% new business development within new sectors such as selling into local authorities)Inheriting circa 50 active customer accountsTasked with generating approx. £300,000 of new business revenueLiaising with engineering, production and technical functions as requiredThree/four days a week on the road visiting customers, rest of time working from home or in the office (minimum one day a week in the South Yorkshire offices)The ideal applicant will be a Sales Engineer Mechanical Engineering with:Mechanical engineering field sales experienceOpen to a mechanical engineer looking for first field sales positionMust be able to read engineering drawingsBasic technical understanding so as to advise potential customer if the products required can be fabricatedKnowledge of engineered granulated screens, beaters, screens and wearparts is not essential but may be usefulIdeally some industrial screens experience in recycling based products/processes (e.g. in plastics recycling)Self-starter/ pro-active in natureLooking for a long term career moveNew business tenacityIdeally a bachelors degree or equivalent in a mechanical engineering disciplineLow-medium tech small company environment, may not suit someone from a large corporate background unless they have worked for a smaller team/ divisionThe Company:Established 50 yearsPrivately heldFamily owned20+ employees£2.5m+ UK turnoverMitchell Maguire is a specialist construction field sales recruitment consultancy, dealing exclusively with construction field sales jobs, construction field sales vacancies and specification field sales positions within: Mechanical Engineering, Industrial, Fabrication, Architectural, Staircases and Stairwells, Balustrade Panels, Perforated Sheet Panels, Sheet Metal Fabricators, Animal Feed Milling, Beaters, Screens, Wearparts, Granulated Machinery Screens, Tyre Processing, Plastic and Green Waste ..... full job details .....
