Adept Resourcing is thrilled to recruit on behalf of our client, a prominent steel processing company based in Sheffield, for a skilled Sales Engineer to join their dynamic team. The Role
The successful Sales Engineer will be instrumental in expanding the customer account base and boosting sales while actively pursuing new business opportunities. Key responsibilities include:
Handling incoming sales inquiries via phone and promptly addressing customer emails.
Providing effective solutions to customer queries and technical challenges.
Creating customised quotes and managing orders based on client specifications.
Ensuring exceptional service and reliability in all customer interactions.
Strengthening and expanding relationships with existing clients to maintain loyalty.
Actively identifying and converting new business prospects into successful orders.
Overseeing an individual account portfolio, ensuring all orders meet top-quality standards.
Collaborating with internal teams, such as CAD Design, Production, and Finance, to deliver seamless order fulfilment.
The role requires a blend of collaborative teamwork and independent initiative, with a strong focus on delivering outstanding customer service from initial contact to order completion.
The Person
We are looking for a candidate with excellent technical and interpersonal skills, combined with meticulous attention to detail. The ideal Sales Engineer will:
Demonstrate strong Maths and English proficiency.
Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
Have hands-on experience with CAD and the ability to interpret technical drawings.
Possess knowledge of metal specifications and cutting techniques, with full training provided as needed.
Ideally have prior sales or technical sales experience, though not mandatory.
Show a proactive, positive attitude and a readiness to acquire new skills.
The ability to build robust client relationships and work effectively with internal teams is critical. Candidates must be confident in managing their own workload while contributing to the broader team''s objectives.
Requirements
Excellent communication skills to engage professionally and efficiently with clients.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
Experience with CAD and the ability to read technical drawings.
Knowledge of metal specifications and cutting methods is a plus.
Previous sales or technical sales experience is preferred but not essential.
