Sales and Estimating Manager

Our client is a well-established and highly regarded structural steel contractor, delivering a wide range of steelwork projects across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Estimating Manager to join their commercial team and lead the estimating function from their office.Reporting directly to the Commercial Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing the estimating team, overseeing incoming enquiries, producing accurate and competitive tenders, and ensuring departmental KPI targets are achieved. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced estimator looking to take the next step into a management role or for an established Estimating Manager seeking a new challenge.Estimating Manager Position OverviewManage the estimating department and oversee all incoming tender enquiries.Prepare accurate and commercially competitive estimates for structural steelwork projects.Personally convert a minimum of three enquiries per week while supporting the wider team in achieving individual targets.Liaise and negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive quotations.Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, architects, engineers, and contractors.Attend pre-tender meetings, interviews, and post-tender presentations.Produce weekly reports on enquiry status, tender pipeline, and departmental performance for the leadership team.Review team performance regularly and provide coaching and ..... full job details .....
