Principal Safety Case Engineer Location: Chorley Hybrid working - 2/3 days per week in office Contract: 12 months Rate: £75 Per Hour The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Principal Safety Case Engineer to join a growing engineering team working on an exciting Small Modular Reactor (SMR) programme. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the development of a next-generation nuclear technology, providing senior-level safety case expertise across the design and development lifecycle. You will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop robust safety arguments, ensure regulatory requirements are met, and provide technical leadership across safety case activities.The Role As a Principal Safety Case Engineer, you will provide technical leadership and subject matter expertise across the safety case lifecycle, supporting the development and substantiation of a complex nuclear technology.Your responsibilities will include: Leading the development and delivery of safety case strategies and documentation. Providing authoritative safety case input into the design and engineering process. Developing and maintaining safety arguments, claims and supporting evidence. Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to identify and manage nuclear safety requirements. Supporting hazard identification, assessment and analysis activities.
