The Opportunity

An established and highly regarded aviation maintenance organisation is seeking an experienced Safety & Compliance Manager to join its operation in Thruxton, Hampshire.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced aviation safety and compliance professional to take responsibility for the organisation''s independent Quality and Safety Management Systems within a specialist rotary-wing maintenance environment.

Working alongside an experienced team of aviation engineers and technicians, you will play a key role in maintaining regulatory compliance, promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring the organisation continues to operate to the highest standards.

The organisation currently operates under UK Part-145, EASA Part-145 and FAA Repair Station approvals, making this a varied and responsible position within a highly regulated aviation environment.



Key Responsibilities

As Safety & Compliance Manager, you will:

  • Take responsibility for the independent Quality System, monitoring compliance with applicable regulatory approvals, including UK Part-145, EASA Part-145 and FAA Repair Station requirements.

  • Manage and develop the Safety Management System (SMS) in accordance with current regulatory requirements.

  • Work closely with the Maintenance Manager on all matters relating to safety, quality and regulatory compliance.

  • Ensure appropriate maintenance procedures are established, maintained and published to support good maintenance practices and continued regulatory compliance.

  • Monitor, maintain and amend company expositions, manuals and procedural documentation.

  • Manage the internal and external audit programme, including the management and closure of Corrective Action Reports.

  • Support the assessment and ongoing management of staff competence for personnel involved in maintenance activities.

  • Oversee systems relating to tool control and calibration of measuring equipment.

  • Ensure current technical information and maintenance instructions relevant to organisational approvals are available, controlled and maintained to the latest applicable revision.

  • Assess and audit subcontractors where activities fall within the scope or extension of the Quality System.

  • Assess suppliers of new and used components and materials to ensure appropriate product quality standards are maintained.

  • Drive continuous improvement across safety, quality and compliance processes.



About You

We are looking for a motivated and proactive aviation professional with strong leadership and communication skills who is comfortable taking ownership of safety and compliance within a regulated maintenance environment.

You should have:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Part-145 requirements, procedures and associated regulations.

  • A minimum of five years'' relevant aviation maintenance experience, covering both airframe and component maintenance within Part-145 A and C ratings.

  • Relevant training and qualifications appropriate to the position, such as Quality Auditing, Root Cause Analysis and Part-145 training.

  • Strong auditing, investigation and corrective-action management capabilities.

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively across engineering and management teams.

  • A practical, proactive and solutions-focused approach to safety and compliance.

Previous approval by EASA and/or the UK CAA on Form 4 for a Part-145 Safety & Compliance Manager position would be highly advantageous.

The successful candidate will be subject to the appropriate regulatory/Authority approval.



Location & Eligibility

This is a site-based position in Thruxton, Hampshire, and applicants should live within a reasonable commuting distance of the site or be prepared to relocate accordingly.

Applicants must already have the legal right to live and work in the UK at the time of application.
