OverviewThis post is a Fixed Term/ Secondment until 06/10/2026. If you are an Hywel Dda University Health Board employee and are applying for this post as a secondment, agreement for the secondment is needed from your current manager prior to application. We are seeking a Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join our rotation, in Carmarthenshire. Rotations are every 6 months, offering opportunities to learn new skills and work with supportive teams. The post is 12 months part time.

We can offer you experience across a wide variety of clinical areas, with rotational posts in the following specialties:

Medicine

Frailty

Trauma and Orthopaedics

Acute Mental Health

Mental Health Commissioning

Intermediate Care

Releasing Time to Care

Stroke – supporting acute and community

Community

Paediatrics

We proactively encourage learning and development and support preceptorship for your first year. There is also a band 5 group for peer support, wellbeing and learning. Mileage expenses are payable, and pool cars are available.

You will be expected to work as part of a team to deliver high quality, evidence based and person centred occupational therapy, supporting our integrated model of care focused on enabling people to engage in meaningful occupations. You will have the support of an occupational therapy team, with opportunities to develop your practice and skills in a variety of areas. We are a learning organisation and value supervision and continued professional development.

Hywel Dda University Health Board plans and provides NHS healthcare services for people living in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire, and bordering counties. Our services include four main hospitals, five community hospitals, two integrated care centres, and extensive community services across the region.
