An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and flexible existing Band 5 Occupational Therapist with relevant experience in the acute hospital setting to join the Band 6 rotation at North Middlesex University Hospital.The post holder will rotate on a 9 months basis in the following areas: Enhanced Recovery, Medical Specialties, Admission Avoidance Team, Acute Medicine for Older People, and Acute Stroke Unit.Responsibilities
Provide specialist occupational therapy assessment and intervention for allocated patient caseload in relevant clinical settings.Provide support and clinical supervision to junior staff (rotational Band 5 occupational therapists, occupational therapy assistants and OT students on clinical placements).Be an active member of the multidisciplinary team; participate in service developments, audits and service reviews; work collaboratively with other health and social care professionals to facilitate timely and safe discharges and prevent hospital admissions.deputise for the Team Leader in their absence.Take an active part in continuous professional development and performance development reviews; participate in a seven day working rota.Areas of Rotation
Enhanced Recovery: In-patient caseload covering surgical, orthopaedics (elective and trauma) and to provide a service to the Orthopaedics Bone School.Medical Specialties: In-patient caseload covering medical wards.Admission Avoidance Team: Working as part of the team focusing on admission avoidance, rapid assessments and signposting of patients in AandE, Frailty Unit and the Acute Medical Unit.Acute Medicine for Older People: In-patient caseload covering the Medicine for Older People wards.Acute Stroke Unit: Working as a member of the Therapy Team covering a 20 bedded unit.About NMUH

The post holder will deputise for the Team Leader in their absence. The post holder will participate in seven day working rota.
